Carole de Lépine From Waste To Interior Products “From Waste To Interiors” is concerned with finding a solution to the increasing amount of plastic waste, most of which is unrecycled. I am designing, in collaboration with the British recycling company SMILE PLASTIC, a collection of multifunctional tableware designs, made of certain discarded plastics. My goal is to create a design collection made entirely out of discarded plastics but one that also challenges the aesthetic of recycled products. We can arrive at appealing designs and surprising textures out of waste. Tableware designs are also multifunctional: they can be used as lamp shades simply by cutting out appropriate parts.
