Aerophobia

Project Description

The design scenario targets those who have a fear of flying. Anxieties are heightened by many worries of the passanger. For example; the take off and landing of an aircraft, turbulence and the height of flight.

I wish to help people overcome this fear by creating a 'rescue kit'. I'm developing a a fabric collection that is visual and tactile. I have been inspired by insects and aircrafts movements and have produced a series of narrative drawings.By following the line, shape and colour there are hidden stories which can be distracting or theraputic.

Secondly,Through my research I found that breathing exercises are another prescription for aerophobia. Imagine blowing into a paper bag... I wish to create colourful shapes that inflate and can detatch from the narrative drawings of travel.
