Key words: craft, technology, Luxury, authenticity.Collector's item.

One of the joys and a reminder of travelling is to collect items that capture an experience or memory.

The concept behind 'Handle me' was to look at a bag in its entirety, and how it could be an 'extension of keep sakes'. The handle being the main focal point, the idea of interchangeable handles and coordinating fabrics was explored'.(WGSN 2008)

In this case Inspiration was drawn from old crafts taken from countries where Samsonite Black label is based;varying from Belgian Lace to Chiang mai embroidery in Thailand and English rose wood carvings. The handles were carved from wood in the style of a motif inspired from these crafts. The handle, serving as a souvenir to remind the traveller of a distinct craft from the country visited.

In collaboration with technogel, inserts for the handle were created to provide extra comfort for the traveller.
