Innovation Project

Light is life. It feeds plants, which feed us, enables us to see and affects our moods. (ie Seasonal Affective Disorder caused by lack of light in the winter time)

Task lighting and ambient lighting are both important for a happy healthy life.

I also believe story-telling is essential. It s escapism and feeds the imagination. One story can be interpreted so many ways especially if the story is told visually.

I researched light therapy. Lamps that help people to sleep, like a bedtime story or counting sheep. Glowing gently to soothe someone to sleep then switched itself off.

I experimented with different lighting: LED lit glowing etching, sunlight revealing shadows through layers of laser cut felt.
