Research Question

How can the transformation of textiles can give an added value? How can “time” be used as a design technique to produce interactive textiles and thus prolonging the life of a product?

Rationale & Context

Inspired by “mat silk” (a very old Chinese silk which over time reveals a new pattern) and observations of overconsumption around her, Marion decided to create a textile which revealed different designs over time through washes. A special and unique relationship with your textile is created by the transformation. Cherish and keep it for ever, or give it to your loved ones with a hidden message reavealed through time.
