Dot Project...

What is the smallest design?

Everything is changing or disappearing. Even though it is enormously big object, it probably will not be seen or looks very small when seen from a long distance. So I thought what the smallest design is and then finally focus on dot. It is not only the basic element of natural order also it us the essence that make up material in the arts. Dots make lines and lines make surfaces and surfaces make three-dimensional objects.

How could dots change?

I tried to express circles as I perceived that when a dot is magnified it looks like a circle. In the first step, I made semi three-dimensional circles with papers of various vivid colours.

I also could express abstract dots by spraying black ink on the paper. I made shadow effects with design of the first and second step and took a photo of them in various angles and then made patterns of a circle by Photoshop.

How could layered dot design transfer to garment?
