Research question

transformative textiles be one solution to aid sustainable design in our new nomadic way of life?

Abstract

This project is a culmination of ideas I have been exploring about transformative nomad design that explores boundaries of fashion, interior, art and craft and sculptural forms using modular systems of materials such as the space that can be changed from interior design to fashion and the design which is easily altered according to the taste of the user. The intention behind my work is to encourage people to participate in the design process through interactive and playful experiences using designs that are emotionally durable and multifunctional. Also my designs should be sustainable for the future. In this way the user has more choices and can therefore create a greater range of products through transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary and going beyond existing boundaries.

I hope my project can promote and inspire a closer and a more sustainable vision for textile design in the future through transformative modular textiles which create meaningful and lasting value relationships between user and design.
