Urbanisation, large cities and the rise of suburban housing have been major contributors over the last hundred years to replace countryside habitats. This has resulted in the danger of declining bird populations. Many species of birds have disappeared from these areas, with just a few birds adapting to cities.
The sustainable aspect of this project is to highlight endangered birds and their habitats within growing urban structures.
I produced several design aesthetics that focus on intricate, colourful and patterned imagery that explores the form of a traditional birdcage with the idiosyncrasies of human urban architectural influences and modifications to natural bird habitats.
